I fell in love with music in 5th grade band and was such a joyful music geek that at age fourteen I started work as a repair apprentice at my local music store. John Kagerer, my repair mentor, trained at Allied alongside many of the finest repair techs in the world and spent decades honing his craft before bringing me on as his first apprentice. During college, I spent a season at a large Seattle music store chain fixing their rental woodwinds and brass.
Now, after years of repairing, playing, touring, teaching, and crafting my signature music care products, I am offering band repair and rental to the East Cascade communities. Our cities are robust and growing fast, but reliable music services are still far from home. I am offering rentals, repair, and hand-selected instrument sales.

Rent. Then Own.
We do not offer rent-to-own options due to a foolish Washington State tax law that requires businesses to pay tax on 100% of the instrument value at time of the first rental payment. Imagine receiving a $40 rent payment but having to pay tax on $2000?!? That causes extreme upfront cost and accounting nightmares trying to claim tax refunds for rentals that cross calendar years or don’t end in ownership. Instead, we offer rental-only instruments and then work with our clients to find them new or gently used instruments for purchase.
